Machine Operator

San Diego, CA 92126 | Temp to Hire

Alternative Work Week Schedule   4/10 Monday through Thursday. 8:30AM-7PM.

Tends the machine that performs and converts raw materials into finished products, overlooks all processes from raw materials inspection to finishing the manufacturing process to transform into finished products, to confirm quality of finished products according to company’s standards.

Production:
- Starts machine and observes machine sections for eventual malfunction at startup or during manufacturing process.
- Completes and maintains Operations/Quality/Production documentation for every process
- Inspect raw materials before setting up on the machine following procedures and specifications
- Inspects/replaces trim blades, valve applicator blades, cutting blades
- Inspects that all cables/hoses are connected properly
- Starts the machine according to procedures
- Inspects products and machine parts continuously
- Communicates with QC Technician to insure that adjustments are done on time
- Stages next run with tooling and raw materials
- Directs and works on tool change/machine setup
- Stops machine and reports malfunction/issue to supervisor or upper management
- Makes minor adjustments or repairs such as opening valves, changing forming and cutting dies, setting guides, or clearing away damaged products/tooling.
- Helps with QC when QC technician at lunch or break
- Helps with packing/scanning when Packer at lunch or break
- Feeds product to conveyors, hoppers, or other feeding devices, and unloads packaged product.
- Replenishes packaging supplies such as wrapping paper, plastic sheet, boxes, cartons, glue, ink, or labels.
- Mounts supplies on spindles or places supplies in hopper or other feeding devices.
- Ensures training/shadowing of new operators
- Reinforces a professional environment by your shift peers
- Ensures complete maintenance of machine tooling per procedures
- Respects and follows ISO 9001:2008 procedures
- Reports/improves any discrepancies regarding policies and procedures
- Maintains safety according to company’s and OSHA regulations on the floor
- Coordinates raw materials transfer from production to warehouse and from warehouse to production
- Maintains good communication flow with upper management

- Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent certification and/or verifiable 1-2 years recent experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to follow read, analyze and interpret written instructions.
- Good oral communication skills.
- Ability to work as a team member.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Order processing systems; Manufacturing software and Database software
